about

Ohio's winter of 2010 was really bad. Sometimes it would snow 12-18" at a time! TGIL was in full swing, but I still kinda felt like I wasn't doing anything besides that. Eric, Jordan, and I hung out practically every day and it was awesome. Also at the same time, our tiny friend group of five was beginning to splinter and fall apart. The two people started hanging out with other people and stopped being as cool as they were.

This was the last song to be written for the album. It is about how the winter sucked, how I didn't feel inspired to do anything besides TGIL, and how I would never change because it would hurt my friends too much. Eric and Jordan are some of the closest friends that I have and I would hate to lose them. So I'm thanking them for sticking with me through all the twists and turns that life has thrown at us.

- Jon

lyrics

I couldn't wait for the snow to melt so I could stretch my legs. The hibernation had me feeling claustrophobic. I guess I'll live with the consequences of being predictable. That way, I'll never hurt the ones I love.

The new year doesn't erase old problems, it creates whole new problems. I've got my friends, the ones who count, who are sticking close and who are sticking it out.
